Vision 20 vs PreserVision AREDS2
This comparison starts with the most important distinction: AREDS2 is a specific research formulation, while Vision 20 is marketed as a general eye-health supplement.
The distinction that matters
The National Eye Institute lists the AREDS2 formulation as vitamin C 500 mg, vitamin E 400 IU, copper 2 mg, lutein 10 mg, zeaxanthin 2 mg and zinc 80 mg. NEI advises people to consult a doctor or eye-care professional about which supplement, if any, is appropriate.
Do not infer that Vision 20 is equivalent to AREDS2 based on shared ingredients. Compare the current labels directly.
Who AREDS2 research applies to
The major AREDS trials addressed progression to advanced age-related macular degeneration in defined participant groups. They are not evidence that everyone should take an AREDS2 supplement or that such a formula improves ordinary eyesight.
